about
Last modified: August 19, 2009Em Space Book Arts Center was started in the spring of 2008 in a small studio in Portland, Oregon with a group of letterpress and book artists sharing printing and binding equipment and knowledge.
Em Space recently moved into its new location at 407 SE Ivon Street, just off the Willamette river and at the start of the Springwater Corridor. This new space has created the perfect home to help fulfill our mission to be a welcoming, supportive space and community for individuals to practice book and letterpress arts.
Em space fosters collaborative art endeavors including idea exchange, exhibitions, and education. Em Space fills a gap in the arts community by providing space and rare equipment to artists and interested community members. We aim to evolve awareness of book and letterpress arts within Portland and beyond while upholding the traditional crafts of book arts and letterpress.
